How To Buy A Pool Cleaner

Most homeowners often experience difficulties when cleaning their pools. Dirty pools are not only a sore sight but a health risk to anyone that wants to use the pool. Moreover, the dirt could damage the swimming pool pump and clog the plumbing. Pool cleaners will help keep your pool clean. Below is a guide to help you choose a pool cleaner

Manufacturer

A quick internet search will reveal different pool cleaner brands on sale. Due diligence will help determine the durability of the various products on sale. For instance, check the cleaner's performance, its maintenance schedule, the problems the cleaner develops and the availability of replacement parts. Moreover, assess whether the manufacturer offers a warranty on the pool cleaner. It guarantees they are confident that the cleaner does not frequently break down.

Type Of Cleaner

Below are the various types of pool cleaners;

Pressure-Side Pool Cleaners

This cleaner uses the pool filtration system to filter dirt and debris in your pool. Typically, the cleaner pressurises the pool water, forcing the debris into the filter. Some of the debris and fungi floating in the pool are collected in a waste bag attached to the cleaner. Pressure side cleaners are suitable for pools with a large amount of debris such as leaves. Their downside is that they may need a specialised booster pump to pressurise the pool water. Therefore, they consume a significant amount of power.

Robotic Pool Cleaners

Robotic pool cleaners suit homeowners who do not have the time to clean their pools. Once deployed, the robotic cleaner automatically moves around your pool, removing dirt and debris on the sides and floor. The cleaner has two motors. One sucks water into the cleaner and through a filtration system that gets rid of the dirt. The second motor moves the cleaner around the pool. The benefit of these cleaners is that they are easy to operate and can be more effective than other kinds of cleaners. However, they are a bit expensive since they rely on sophisticated technology.

Suction-Side Pool Cleaners

Suction-side pool cleaners attach to the pool's skimmer. The cleaner uses suction force generated from the skimmer to suck debris and dirt in the pool. The sucked debris is pushed into the pool's filtration system and collected into the skimmer basket. Suction-side pool cleaners are cheaper compared to pressure-side and robotic pool cleaners. Moreover, they have a straightforward operating mechanism and consume less power compared to the other cleaners.
